Dutch Championships Tiviakov and Peng lead
28.06.2006 Tuesday 27 June round 9 of the Dutch Championship (12 player Round Robin) was played. Sergey Tiviakov defeated Loek Van Wely and Ivan Sokolov defeated Jan Werle. Sergey Tiviakov is on top of the standings with 7 points, followed by Ivan Sokolov on 6,5. Loek Van Wely is third on 5,5 points. With two more rounds to go sixfold titleholder Loek Van Wely should be considered being cut out for the championship. Next round Tiviakov plays Jan Timman, who is on a disappointing score of 3 points.
In the women’s section, a 10 player Round Robin, round 7 was played. Zhaoqin Peng is on 6,5 points. Bianca Muhren defeated Tea Lanchava to take over second place with 5,5 points.
