Corus A, B, C participants update
21.12.2006 The organizers of the Corus Chess Tournament 2007 have announced the replacement of two players in the Grandmaster Groups B and C. In Group B Alexandra Kosteniuk (who is ill) has been replaced by Viktor Bologan from Moldova, and in Group C Sipke Ernst (university obligations) has been replaced by Dutch woman champion Zhaoqin Peng. The categories remain the same. Group A is a category 19 event, B is category 14 and C is category 10. The Grandmaster Groups host 3 x 14 = 42 players of which 14 are from the Netherlands, 7 from Russia and 3 from Ukraine. Four female players will participate: Tatiana Kosintseva in Group B and Nadezhda Kosintseva, Hou Yifan and Zhaoqin Peng in Group C. The mega event will take place 13-28 January 2007 in Wijk aan Zee (Netherlands).

Tatiana Kosintseva in Group B holds a GM norm. The Turin Chess Olympiad 2006 brought 4 female players a (general !) GM norm: ZHAO Xue (CHN), HOANG Thanh Trang (HUN), ZHUKOVA, Natalia (UKR) and KOSINTSEVA, Tatiana (RUS).
Tatiana Kosintseva is Russian Women’s Champion (2002, 2004), Russian Women’s Vice-Champion (2005). In 2006 she shared the third place together with her sister Nadezhda.
