21.01.2007 Round 8 was played on Sunday 21 January 01.30 PM. In group A Topalov took over the lead after defeating Anand, while Radjabov lost to Aronian. Topalov leads on 6.0 points, followed by Radjabov on 5.5 points. Karjakin, Aronian, Svidler and Kramnik are on 5.0 points. In Group B Vachier-Lagrave defeated L’Ami, while Eljanov made a draw with Stellwagen. Vachier-Lagrave leads on 6.0 points, Eljanov follows on 5.5 points, Bu is third on 5.0 points. In group C Nepomniachtchi (vs Willemze) won again. Nepomniachtchi leads on 7.5 points. Berg (who defeated Nadezhda Kosintseva) follows on 6.0 points. Krasenkow is on 5.5 points. The Dutch squadron (14 players) scored even: 1.0/2 in A + 2.0/5 in B + 4.0/7 in C = 7.0/14. Tomorrow Monday 22 January the players in groups A, B & C will be having a rest day.
