23.01.2007 Round 9 was played on Tuesday 23 January 01.30 PM. In group A Shirov defeated Navara, Ponomariov defeated Karjakin and Anand defeated Van Wely. The other games were drawn. Topalov is now on 6.5 points, Radjabov follows on 6.0 points. Aronian, Svidler and Kramnik are on 5.5 points. In group B Smeets vs Vachier-Lagrave was drawn, while L’Ami defeated Eljanov. Vachier-Lagrave leads on 6.5 points, followed by Bu, Bologan (who defeated Georgiev) and Eljanov, all on 5.5 points. In group C Nepomniachtchi vs Hou Yifan was drawn. Nepomniachtchi leads on 8.0 points, followed by Krasenkow on 6.5 points and Berg on 6.0 points. The Dutch squadron (14 players) scored even: 0.5/2 in A + 3.5/5 in B + 3.0/7 in C = 7.0/14.
