In Group A Van Wely was winning against Carlsen but he threw it all away and lost. The match Ukraine vs Ukraine was won by Ivanchuk. The other games ended in a draw. Carlsen leads with 6.5 points, followed by Aronian who is on 6.0 points. Five players are on 5.5 points. In Group B the girls made a draw (Hou vs Koneru). Movsesian defeated Smeets to take clear lead on 7.5 points, followed by two players on 6.5 points: Bacrot and Short, who defeated Krasenkow. In Group C only two games ended in a draw. Caruana lost to Li, but still leads with 7.0 points. Krush defeated Braun and Ushenina defeated Grivas. In the Honorary Group Ljubojevic (vs Timman) and Kortchnoi (vs Portisch) won their games.
