25.01.2008 Round 11 was played on Friday 25 January. In Group A Levon Aronian took the lead with 7.0 points after winning against Loek Van Wely, while leader Magnus Carlsen lost to Viswanathan Anand. Teymour Radjabov, Magnus Carlsen and Viswanathan Anand tie for second place with 6.5 points. Vladimir Kramnik, Michael Adams and Vassily Ivanchuk are on 6.0 points. In Group B there were only two draws. Sergey Movsesian (draw against Ian Nepomniachtchi) leads with 8.0 points. Etienne Bacrot and Nigel Short (who defeated Smeets) tie for second place with 7.5 points. In Group C Fabiano Caruana (after defeating Anna Ushenina) clearly leads with 8.0 points, followed by Friso Nijboer, Parimarjan Negi and Dimitri Reinderman on 7.0 points.
