Corus Chess 2008 Round 12
26.01.2008 Round 12 was played on Saturday 26 January. In Group A the big news was Carlsen’s victory over Kramnik. Eljanov defeated Topalov, and Polgar defeated Adams. Aronian and Carlsen lead with 7.5 points, followed by Radjabov and Anand with 7.0 points. In Group B Movsesian (vs L’Ami), Smeets (vs (Nepomniachtchi) and Spoelman (vs Koneru) won their games, the other games ended in a draw. Movsesian leads with 9.0 points, followed by two players on 8.0 points: Bacrot and Short. In Group C Caruana defeated Nijboer, Krush defeated Van Der Wiel, Negi defeated Grivas and Carlsson defeated Ushenina. Caruana leads with 9 points, followed by Negi with 8.0 points and Reinderman with 7.5 points. The Honorary Group was won by Ljubojevic (4.0 points), followed by Kortchnoi and Timman (3.0 points) and Portisch (2.0 points). Tomorrow the final round 13 will be played.
