Chess Olympiad Round 4
25.05.2006 Round 4 was played on Wednesday 24 May at 03.00 p.m. In the Men’s section Russia (Kramnik, Svidler, Grischuk, Bareev) defeated China (Bu, Zhang, Zhang, Wang) 3-1. The two Zhangs lost. Uzbekistan – Ukraine ended in a draw 2-2. Kasimdzhanov (Uzbekistan) defeated Ivanchuk (Ukraine). England lost to Turkey 1,5 – 2,5. Russia and Armenia are on 13,5 points. Clear third is Netherlands with 13,0 points. Uzebekistan is fourth on 12,5 points. Spain, Ukraine, Bulgaria and Sweden are on 12,0 points. In the Womens’ section Lithuania, the proud leader after round 3 with maximum score, was given the brush-off by Russia 0-3. Russia is clear leader with 11,5 points. Second is Ukraine with 10 points.
