Daniël Noteboom Tournament 2008
03.02.2008 The 68th Daniël Noteboom Tournament (1-3 February 2008) in Leiden (Netherlands) was won by Predrag Nikolic and John Van Der Wiel with 5.5/6 points. Nikolic won the cup having a better Buchholz score. In the final round Nikolic made a draw against Dgebuadze and Van Der Wiel defeated Roeland Pruijssers. Shilong Li, Martin Roobol, Alexandre Dgebuadze and Bogdan Lalic tied for third place with 5.0 points. The tournament attracted 131 participants (including 7 GMs and 3 IMs) in the main group (Group A) plus 127 participants in the second group (Elo < 1900). The second group (Group B) was won by Dennis Flohr and Erik-Jan Colijn. The Daniël Noteboom Tournament is a weekend tournament, 48 hours from Friday night till Sunday afternoon, 6 rounds Swiss 40 moves / 105 minutes + 15 minutes to finish the game. The tournament was organized by LSG.
