Leiden Chess Tournament 2008 announced
08.02.2008 The second Leiden Chess Tournament (a 9 rounds Swiss Open, first prize in the main group 2000 euro) will be held 11-20 July 2008 in Leiden (Netherlands). The opening ceremony is on 10 July. The main group (Group A) is for players with Elo > 1850, the second group (Group B) is for players with Elo < 1900. There will be two byes possible in the first six rounds. The tournament will be organized by Stichting Denksportpromotie Nederland. The sponsors of the event are amongst others: the H.L. Druckerfonds and the Stichting Kasteel Oud Poelgeest. Playing venue is the Leiden Denksportcentrum (Mind Games Center Leiden). The first edition took place 13-22 July 2007. The winner was GM Erik Van Den Doel. Second was GM Dimitri Reinderman, and third was GM John Van Der Wiel.
