25th VBG/van Berkel-BSG Pinkstertoernooi 2008
13.05.2008 The 25th VBG/van Berkel-BSG Pinkstertoernooi (9-12 May 2008) in Bussum, Netherlands, was won by Dutch GM Erik Van Den Doel, scoring 6.0/7 points. Roeland Pruijssers and Robert Ris shared the second place with 5.5 points, followed by 4 players with 5.0 points: Joost Wempe, Aleksandar Berelovich, Anish Giri and Ivo Wantola. The tournament attracted 54 participants (including 4 GMs and 5 IMs) in the main group (Group 1) plus 58 participants in the second group (Elo < 1950). The second group (Group 2) was won by Jelle Wiering. The 25th VBG/van Berkel-BSG Pinkstertoernooi was an extended weekend tournament, 7 rounds Swiss in 4 days. The time control was 2 hours with 5 seconds increment after each move starting from the first move. Prize money Group 1: 2000 (first prize), 1000, 500, 300, 175, 150, 75, 75, 75, 75 euro. The tournament was organized by chess club BSG. Frits Agterdenbos photographed the final round (R7) on 12 May.
