ChessVista.com is the website of chess photographer Frits Agterdenbos. The site provides the international chess community with high quality chess photos and chess news of chess players from international chess events. There will be visual reports and an album with chess photo collections showing all the visual aspects of the chess world.31.12.2008 Weekend tournaments are very popular in the Netherlands. The weekend tournament format generally holds: 48 hours from Friday night till Sunday afternoon, 6 rounds Swiss, rate of play all moves in 115 minutes + extra seconds added time per move. In 2008, 14 tournaments like this were being organized, with first prizes ranging from 300 – 1.350 euro. The total first prize sum was 12.050 euro. Above that two ‘extended’ (Friday till Monday) weekend tournaments, each first prized 2.000 euro, were held in May. The most successful 2008 weekend tournament players were the Dutch GMs Erik Van Den Doel (4 tournaments victories) and Friso Nijboer (3).
