ChessVista.com is the website of chess photographer Frits Agterdenbos. The site provides the international chess community with high quality chess photos and chess news of chess players from international chess events. There will be visual reports and an album with chess photo collections showing all the visual aspects of the chess world.
16.02.2009 A dream has come through. A new chess tournament, the Batavia Amsterdam Chess Tournament, is taking place 11-20 February in Cafe Batavia 1920, in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Chess photographer Bas Beekhuizen and cafe owner Peter Tames, both chess enthousiasts, are the initiators and organizers (among others) of the tournament. Jeroen Van Den Berg, Corus Chess tournament director, was asked to join the team. The tournament is a 10-player Round Robin including 1 GM (Ilan Manor) and 3 IMs (Merijn Van Delft, Tibor Karolyi and Yochanan Afek). Round 5 results: Yochanan Afek - Stefan Kuipers ½-½, Taco Vrenegoor - Arlette Van Weersel 1-0, Michael Karp - Henk Vedder ½-½, Merijn Van Delft -Ilan Manor ½-½, Robin Van Kampen - Tibor Karolyi ½-½. Manor and Vedder lead with 3.5 points. Report, with photos of round 5 (15 February) by Frits Agterdenbos.
