ChessVista.com is the website of chess photographer Frits Agterdenbos. The site provides the international chess community with high quality chess photos and chess news of chess players from international chess events. There will be visual reports and an album with chess photo collections showing all the visual aspects of the chess world.
07.06.2009 Dutch GM Friso Nijboer has won the Utrecht Open Championship 2009 (in Dutch: Open Kampioenschap Utrecht 2009, abbreviated to OKU 2009). The weekend tournament, which attracted 167 participants, took place on 5 – 7 June 2009 in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Group 1 (elo>1800, 73 participants including 8 GMs and 4 IMs) was won by GM Friso Nijboer with 5.0/6 points. Alexandre Danin, Vyacheslav Ikonnikov and Anish Giri also scored 5.0 points, but Friso Nijboer won the cup having a better Buchholz score. Group 2 (elo 1500-1900, 68 participants) was won by Niels Hendrikx. Group 3 (elo<1600, 26 participants) was won by Rudy Veenhof. The Utrecht Open Championship is a weekend tournament, 48 hours from Friday night till Sunday afternoon, 6 rounds Swiss, rate of play all moves in 115 minutes + 5 seconds added time per move. The event was was organized by Chess Club Paul Keres and sponsored by Adviesbureau Schrijvers and Wout van Veen Advocaten and others.
