ChessVista.com is the website of chess photographer Frits Agterdenbos. The site provides the international chess community with high quality chess photos and chess news of chess players from international chess events. There will be visual reports and an album with chess photo collections showing all the visual aspects of the chess world.
28.08.2011 Russian GM Maxim Turov has won the 7th BDO Chess Tournament, which took place 20-28 August 2011 in Haarlem, the Netherlands. Maxim Turov and Robin van Kampen scored 6.5/9 points in the Premier Tournament, a ten player Round Robin tournament (3 GMs, 6 IMs, 1 FM). Turov won the play-off match. Dutch IM Ruud Janssen finished third on 6.0 points making his final GM norm. By winning the tournament Turov received an extra bonus: a ticket to Tata Steel Chess (‘Wijk aan Zee’) 2012 Group C. The Challenger Tournament, a ten player Round Robin tournament (4 IMs, 4 FMs) was won by Dutch FM David Klein who made his first IM norm. The Open A Tournament (45 participants, elo>1850) was won by Rini Kuijf and Rob Schoorl, and the Open B Tournament (45 participants, elo<1900) was won by Albert Dekker and Ton van Rooijen.
