Chess Olympiad Round 11
02.06.2006 Round 11 was played on Friday 2 June 03.00 p.m. In the Men’s section the main results were Armenia – Czech Republic 3-1, China – France 1,5-2,5 and USA – Russia 2,5-1,5. Armenia is clear leader with 32,0 points. Second are China and France with 28,5. Russia and USA are on 28,0 points.
In the Women’s section the main results were Bulgaria – Ukraine 0,5-2,5, Georgia – Russia 1-2 and China – Greece 3-0. Ukraine leads with 25,5 points, followed by Russia on 24,5. Third is China with 23,5 points. USA and India are on 21,5 points.
In the list of achieved norms so far three women have scored a general(!) GM norm: Zhao Xue, Hoang Thanh Trang and Tatiana Kosintseva. There are two more rounds to go.
