The General Assembly is part of The 77th FIDE Congress 27 May – 4 June. Kirsan Ilyumzhinov was re-elected, scoring 96-54. Bessel Kok (together with Ali Nihat Yazici in The Right Move team) loss was an honourable defeat. He showed being a good loser. His attempt to take over the FIDE presidency was a very serious wake-up call for FIDE. After hearing the election result Bessel Kok seemed relieved. Together with Kirsan Ilyumzhinov the other (Chess Fidelity) team members will enter (again) the Presidential Board: Georgios Makropoulos, Lewis Ncube, Ignatius Leong, Nigel Freeman.
